Our spelling words this week feature the letter "Y" used as a vowel. You've always heard that the vowels are A..E..I..O..U.....and sometimes "Y". They say that because sometimes "Y" does make a vowel sound. It can make the "I" sound (fly, why, try, sky). It can also make the "E" sound (funny, happy, baby, wavy).
